TMS #500- Thankfully Lacy

A few years ago I attempted to start joining in Sketch challenges to work on my card making. As much as I enjoyed the few challenges I participates in, it was just the wrong season of life at the time to continue. I have a little more time on my hands and hope to reignite my passion for card making.

I decided to see what was happening at Tuesday Morning Sketches and they are celebrating #500!!! That is so amazing! So I decided to dip my toes in and make a card.

Based on Sketch #500- this is what I came up with...I’m a little rusty!

My Materials:

Cardstock: Salmon, brown, white, and coral.

Dies: Momenta Art C Stamp & Die #25889 R7; Momenta- Hope/Dream/Believe

Washit Tape: Black lace flowers (dollar store)

It’s a little rough, but I am thankful to have more time to be creative again!

God Bless,

Kristina

Of Mice and Candycanes

I decided to search for more card challenges and came across one over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Challenge #383 is an anything goes challenge and I decided to make a Christmas Card.

My inspiration came from a tradition I started with my son 3 years ago. We hang 24 candy canes on the tree (per person) and every night we eat one and count down the days until Christmas.

Materials:

Card Stock: Red and White

Designer Paper: Recollections "Say Freeze" Christmas paper pack

Embellishments: Martha Stewart Stickers: Peppermint Winter Mouse
and the "when I count my blessings, I think of friends like you" stickers are left over from an unknown Christmas scrapbook page set.

Card Challenges

This is something I never heard of before until last night. As I was searching for template ideas, I came across Card Challenges. There are many out there and from what I gather they are an amazing group of crafters from all over the world who create cards based on a specific set of guidelines and then share their creations. How cool is that? .

This coming year I am attempting to be more intentional in my crafting life and I think these challenges are exactly what I need to keep me motivated. My next post will be my first attempt at one of these challenges.

God Bless & Happy Crafting!

Welcome To Another Section Of My Life

Blogging. I love it and fail at it all the time. So here I am about to embark on yet another online venture. The main difference is that this time it is not meant for any other purpose than to journal. I am not looking to make a mark, but just enjoy the leisure time I spend creating cards. I've been meaning to post for several months now but fear and anxiety took root. What if I start and fail just like before? What if no one ever reads my blog? What if no one likes what I have to say or what I create? All these fears just stopped me in my tracks. I have realized that as tough as I try to be I am quite insecure with who I am. But tonight I made the decision that this blog is for me. It is my retreat. My place for creative outlet. If someone should stumble into my little corner, then I hope it would inspire them to be more creative and trust in their own creativity.

Well, I guess that is it for now.

God Bless and Happy Crafting!
